1 1/2 oz. White Rum
3/4 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1-2 dashes Curacao
Lemon Twist
or Slice
Pour into an ice-filled rocks glass and stir. Add the lemon, and serve.
Fallen Angel
1 oz. Gin
1 oz. Lemon Juice
3 dashes White Creme de Menthe
1 dash Bitters
Maraschino
Cherry
Pour the liquids into an ice-filled mixing glass and stir well. Strain into an ice-filled rocks glass or
martini glass, add the cherry, and serve.
Flamingo

1 1/2 oz. Dark Rum
1 oz. Pineapple Juice
1/4 oz. Lime
1 splash Grenadine
Lime Slice
Shake or blend with ice until almost frothy. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with the lime
before serving.
Variations: For a frozen
version, shake or blend together with crushed ice, and pour the whole
concoction into a margarita glass.
Trivia: According to legend, the
Flamingo originated at the famous La Floridita Bar in Havana in the
1920's. One of the world's best-known
and loved bars, La Floridita was the home of the daiquiri, and a favorite
watering hole for Ernest Hemingway.
Florida Daiquiri

1 1/2 oz. White Rum
1/4 oz. Maraschino Liqueur
3/4 oz. Lime Juice
3/4 oz. Grapefruit Juice
Sugar Syrup
(if desired)
Maraschino
Cherry
Shake or blend with ice and taste for sweetness, adding more sugar syrup
if necessary. When ready, strain into a
chilled cocktail glass, garnish with the cherry and serve.
Florida Sunrise
1 1/2 oz. White Rum
1/4 oz. Grenadine
Orange
Juice (to fill)
Orange
Slice
Maraschino
Cherry
Stick the fruit together with a toothpick. Then shake or blend together the liquids, and pour into an
ice-filled highball glass. Garnish with
the fruit, and serve.
Variations: For the traditional
layered look of "sunrise" drinks, pour the grenadine into the glass
before adding the mixed rum and juice.
Flying Scotsman

1 1/2 oz. Scotch Whiskey
3/4 oz. Sweet Vermouth
1 dash Bitters
Shake the ingredients together with ice, and strain into an ice-filled
rocks glass before serving.
Foghorn
1 1/2 oz. Gin
Ginger Ale
(to fill)
Fill a highball glass with ice and pour in the gin. Top off with ginger ale and serve.
Variations: Use vodka instead of
gin and you've got the drink known as a Copperhead.
Frozen Daiquiri

1 1/2 oz. White Rum
3/4 oz. Lime Juice or Sour Mix
1 tsp. Sugar
Lime Slice
Pur into a mixer and blend with an equal volume of crushed ice. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass,
champagne glass, or brandy snifter, garnish with the lime slice, and serve.
Tips: Virtually any fruit can
also be added to the drink, for added flavor and color (see recipes for Banana
Frozen Daiquiri and Florida Daiquiri, for more information). For a sweeter drink, add a dash of sugar
syrup or use sweetened sour mix.

1 1/2 oz. Vodka
3/4 oz. Peach Schnapps
Orange Juice (to
fill)
Orange
Slice
Pour the vodka and schnapps into an ice-filled highball glass, and top
off with orange juice. Garnish with the
orange slice and stir before serving.
Variations: For a less strong but
no less tasty drink, omit the vodka and use 1 1/2 ounces of schnapps. Or try mixing a Lieutenant Bill.
